Error:  A system error has occurred. Contact the Oracle Identity Manager System Administrator as part of Oracle Fusion Applications Installation

Solution:

It is an unpublished bug “Unable to Set LDAP Connection” Error Creating User in OIM 11g [ID 1307549.1]”

Encryption of the Directory Server IT Resource data in SVP table was not accomplished.  The fields in the table are filled with plain text format instead of encryption format, so we need to make them from text format to encrypted format.  Follow below steps:

1.  Connect to EDG_OIM schema:

sqlplus EDG_OIM/oracle

Fire below statement and look for  svp_field_value field for any text entries and make a note of it:

set lines 130
set pages 100
col ssvr_name for a10
col spd_field_name for a35
col svp.svp_key for 99
col svp_field_value for a20

select svr.svr_name, spd.spd_field_name, svp.svp_key, svp_field_value
from svp inner join spd on spd.spd_key = svp.spd_key
inner join svr on svr.svr_key = svp.svr_key;

I found below fields with text format:

SVR_NAME SPD_FIELD_NAME SVP_KEY SVP_FIELD_VALUE

 2.  Backup the table

connect as sys “create table edg_oim.svp_bkp as (select * from edg_oim.svp);

3.  Select for proper fields output to update the columns as null:

sqlplus EDG_OIM/oracle

select svp_field_value from svp where svp_field_value like ‘%oracle%’;
select svp_field_value from svp where svp_field_value like ‘dc%’;

update svp set svp_field_value=null where svp_field_value like ‘%dc%’;
update svp set svp_field_value=null where svp_field_value like ‘%oracle%’;

4.  Now try to Edit the “Directory Server” from Manage IT Resource in OIM as mentioned in below link and fill the values as mentioned in screenshot, make sure to to put “false” against Connection Pooling Supported” value and save them.

5.  Then try to run “LDAP User Create and Update Full Reconciliation” job and it will be successful.

6.  Restart OIM.
