Oracle Fusion Applications Installation

1.  Preparing for Installing Oracle Fusion Applications:

In the first step, we need to download Oracle Fusion Applications from edelivery.oracle.com, here I used Oracle Fusion Applications 11.1.1.4.

I have downloaded Oracle Fusion Apps software and extracted under /home/oracle/FA11.1.1.4

In the first step, we need to install Oracle Fusion Applications Provisioning Framework:

1.  Set Java Home

export JAVA_HOME=/home/oracle/FA11.1.1.4/installers/jdk/jdk6

2.  Then run Provisioning Installer

cd /home/oracle/FA11.1.1.4/installers/faprov/Disk1

./runInstaller

If installer is asking for JRE/JDK location, please provide a path of jdk in software location, /home/oracle/FA11.1.1.4/installers/jdk/jdk6

3.  Then we need to follow the Provisioning Installer Screens and Instructions: Specify inventory directory location

4.  Run the highlighted script as a Root user

Click OK to continue

 Click Next to continue

Analyzes the host computer to ensure that specific operating system prerequisites have been met. If any prerequisite check fails, the screen displays a short error message at the bottom. Fix the error and click Retry.
To ignore the error or warning message, click Continue. Click Abort to stop the
prerequisite check process for all components.
Click Next to continue.

Specify the Location where you want to install the provisioning framework.

Click Next to continue.

click Save to create a text file (response file) to use if you choose to perform the
same installation later.
Click Install to begin installing this configuration.

When the progress indicator indicates 100 percent, click Next to continue.

click Save and indicate a directory where you want to save the file.
Click Finish to dismiss the screen and exit the installer.

In the Second step, we need to install Oracle Fusion Applications Transaction Database:

1.  Go to provisioning location to install fusion applications database

cd /u01/provisioning/provisioning/bin

./provisioningWizard.sh

Follow the screenshots

Click Next to continue.

6.Specify Central Inventory Directory to /etc/oraInst.loc  & click Next to Continue.

Click Next to continue.

Click Next to continue.

Follow the above figure & fill the form as follows
Database Listener Port: 1521
Installers Directory Location:/media/201220817_0149/FA11.1.1.4
Oracle Base: /u01/fmw/oracle
Software Location: /u01/fmw/oracle/product/11.2.0/db1
Database File Location: /u01/fmw/oracle/oradata
OSDBA Group: dba
Global Database Name: fadb
Administrative Passwosd :Specify a valid password. Retype it to Confirm.
Click Next to continue.

 

When prerequisite checking is complete with no errors, click Next to continue.
Click Save to create and save a text file to use as a record of this configuration.
Click Install to begin the installation.

7.The progress of the installation phases is listed. A message appears after the

installation phase is complete directing you to run root.sh. Follow this instruction
and click OK when you are finished to continue the installation.

Click Next to continue.

8.Summarizes the actions and validations that were performed for this installation. Click
Save to record the database summary information in a text file.

Click Close to dismiss the screen and exit the wizard.

9.Oracle Fusion Applications RCU

Select Create to create and load component schemas into the database.

Click Next to continue.

specify the following connection credentials as shown in the above screen :

Click Next to continue.

Select Create a new prefix : IM

The Applications RCU retrieves the names of the Oracle Fusion Middleware and
Oracle Fusion Applications components. You cannot change the schema owner names
on this screen. By default, all components are checked so that they are included in the
prerequisite check process. Click Next to begin the process.


The Applications RCU verifies the global prerequisites. When the progress bar reports
100 percent complete and all prerequisites report a check mark, click OK.
Click Next to continue.

Select Use Same passwords for all schemas

Note the passwords that you enter. You must supply them when you create a response
file.
Click Next to continue.

Click Next .

Click OK and

Click Next .

Review the information you have specified. If it is what you expected, click Create to
begin creating schemas. The Applications RCU displays the Repository Creation
Utility – Create screen, showing the schema creation process.

If errors occur during the Create operation, or if the operation fails for any component,
the Cleanup for failed components check box appears on this page and is selected by
default. If you leave the check box selected, the Applications RCU automatically
performs cleanup actions for the components that failed.
Click Close to dismiss the screen and exit the Applications RCU.

10.Running Repository Creation Utility (RCU) for Oracle Identity Management Components

Important Note: We are NOT creating a separate database to host Oracle Identity Management schemas. Instead we will create these schemas in our Fusion Database (fadb) itself since the schema names are distinct compared to Fusion Application schemas. We will save a lot of Memory for our Virtual Machine.

In order to run RCU for Identity Management on same database, we must set the open_cursors parameter to 800.

Open a new database session and set following values.

SQL> show parameter open_cursors

SQL> alter system set open_cursors=800 scope=both sid=’*’;

System altered.

Launch Repository Creation Utility for Oracle Identity Management from<Framework_location>/fmw_rcu/bin location

[oracle@fa bin]$ /app/fusion/provisioning/fmw_rcu/bin/rcu &

Click Next

Select Create and click Next

Enter the database information (for same fadb database as entered earlier. Click Next

Next it will check for required prerequisites. Upon successful check click OK

Click Idnentity Management. It will select few other required components also automatically. Click Next

Again it will check prerequisites for the selected components. Upon successful check click OK

Enter same password Oracle for ease of remembering. Click Next

No need to change anything in this screen. Click Next

It will create the required tablespaces. Once finished click OK

On this summary screen click Create to create required schemas and load data.

This will be quicker than earlier RCU. Once finished proceed to next screen.

Finally it will display Completion Summary. Clock Close
